Message For those of you that don't frequent Supraforums.com, I was informed about a post from here about some of them wanting to gather for a "shootout with some Zs" as they put it. Unfortunately, that thread went to shit when I realized that the thread starter just wanted to floss the rides and take some photos...no actual DRIVING of any sort. I quickly left that thread and joined another one located here by another Supra guy who just wanted to meet and hang at Fontana. Everyone in that thread was quite civil and we had a great time at the track.

Unfortunately, the original Supra guy didn't show (totally flaked, his own guys were kinda mad actually). However, 4-5 other Supras did show up. The best time on the day was a 12.0 towards the end of the night. The rest from memory were a 12.4, a 12.7, a couple of 13s and I did see a 14.XX from the guy in front of me. There was talk of "the timing lights being off" and such, but they seemed okay for us. They were in the right lanes mostly while we were on the left, but the lights seemed fine for me. Who knows.

As for the Zs, we had a pretty good night. A few of the guys and gals from Vegas joined us (great seeing you guys again!) and if memory serves Mike put down a 12.3 as the night was closing out. We lost a set of ET Streets on the way there (flat) and I had to hustle between runs to switch with CanAceU (thanks you guys for helping me out). As such, I was a bit rushed but I layed down a 12.4 @ 109mph on 18.5psi. Not great but I did nail a 1.7 60' time. My only problem was the 1st-2nd gear shift was a bit slow for some reason. I ran again and this time on 17psi peak I nailed another 12.4 @ 110mph with another 1.78 60' time. So not too shabby. That's with full interior, gas, stock intercoolers/injectors/etc. I think with some tweaks I'll be able to hit my 11 second pass at our better track next month. And I KNOW I can hit a 1.6 with that converter if I don't rush so much. We'll see :)

Here's one of my burnouts (as usual). No traction problems for me ;) Right Click, Save As

Joe of Operation Z pulled off a 12.5 with stock turbos and very few mods. Degradated flexing those new fog ducts pulled off another 12.2 to add to his collection as well as another 12.5 on his stock twins. But the real story on the day was Dean (CanAceU) bringing out his beast built by Seb of Specialty Z. After running his 11.2 @ 122 on near stock turbos with nitrous, he dropped in some HKS GT2530s with Specialty Z inconel manifolds. This was the FIRST time at the track with the new configuration and as per Dean's request, he had Seb pilot it down the track. Since he has no roll cage, he needed to let out unless he got a GREAT launch otherwise any 11 second pass would be an instant removal from the track. On the very first pass, he looked to bog it, but the car still got a 1.8 60' time and he nearly hit a 10 second pass with an 11.02 @ 128mph! By some miracle, he wasn't kicked out and ran again. This time the car actually spun the Mickey Thompson ET Streets so bad he let out on the launch, got back in it, spun, let out again and he STILL pulled an 11.12 @ 131mph! We thought for sure it was going to be a high 11, but that car is just sick. So next month, he'll be in the 10s...I have no doubt.

Here's a crappy night clip of the 11.12 run Right Click, Save as

And the slip:

We're really starting to make names for ourselves at the SoCal tracks as people keep coming up to ask how we beat them, how fast the cars are, etc. Even the Supra guys were somewhat impressed, which they should be since most of us were quicker ;) That being said, they were a blast to talk to and had some sweet cars out at the track. Hopefully we'll get more people and some quicker cars on both sides out to the Famoso/Bakersfield trip in May (I'll post in events when I know the date). Here's a few pics on the day. If they don't load, blame my host and click "View Image" on it to retry it. Askthedrunk.com is down :/

Our group. Alan M. (former Z owner) brought out his ACR Viper and a few friends. Great guys to hang with. That's a 1000hp SC'd Viper by the way. Ran 12s on street tires. Alan his low 12s I think on drags.

One of the Supras that showed up. This was Jonathan (I think that's NowWhat on Supraforums. Very cool guy)

ForceFedZ32 borrowing some dry ice from the Supra guys. Anything to go quicker, I guess ;) What did you end up with bro?

That's it folks. I had a great time despite running around like a madman with one jack, one set of tools, one set of tires and THREE people trying to share them. Still had an awesome time and I look forward to Famoso in May! If I missed anyone or goofed on a time, let me know! More images/videos should come in soon since mine were so-so at best. I was there to DRIVE not be camera boy damnit :)
